MICHAEL KEITH MITTELMARK has been an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated attorney with the highest ratings in both Ethics and Legal Ability since 2004, and he is a member of The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Mr. Mittelmark concentrates his practice in the areas of medical malpractice and Department of Health matters for hospitals, physicians and allied health care providers, professional malpractice, business litigation, insurance coverage disputes and appellate practice. Mr. Mittelmark represents a broad spectrum of private companies and individuals as well as health care professionals, and he has been recognized as one of the “10 Best” Personal Injury Law Attorneys for Client Satisfaction in Florida.
Mr. Mittelmark was admitted to the Florida Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 1989. He maintains active memberships in the Palm Beach County Bar Association, South Palm Beach County Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute.
From his birth in New York, New York, Mr. Mittelmark had an interesting journey to becoming a legal professional. Following graduation from high school, Mr. Mittelmark attended a Bio-Medical Program at Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, after which he obtained his Bachelor's Degree, cum laude from the University of Florida in Gainesville. While at UF, Mr. Mittelmark completed his undergraduate thesis on National Health Insurance and was named to the President's Honor Roll. He was also the only student member of the University Steering Committee in his senior year. Deciding that his first career choice was law, Mr. Mittelmark entered the Nova Southeastern University from which he received his J.D. While a student at Nova, Mr. Mittelmark was a Notes and Comments Editor of the Nova Law Review.
Concurrent with attending law school, Mr. Mittelmark clerked for several local law firms engaging in general civil practice before accepting a position as an associate with the law firm of Parker, Johnson, Owen & McGuire, P.A. During his tenure with Parker, Johnson, Mr. Mittelmark fine-tuned his litigation skills in insurance coverage, insurance defense and medical malpractice matters. In June 1993, Mr. Mittelmark co-founded the firm now known as Michaud, Mittelmark, Marowitz and Asrani, PLLC.
In addition to obtaining multiple defense verdicts for physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice matters, Mr. Mittelmark has successfully argued appellate matters in front of the Fourth District Court of Appeals, the Eleventh Circuit and the Florida Supreme Court.
Mr. Mittelmark resides in Boca Raton with his wife, Lisa and three children, Robert, Elizabeth and Jack.
