EVAN T. MAROWITZ joined the firm in September 2002. He brought
with him extensive trial experience
and will concentrate his practice on
medical malpractice, construction
litigation, premises liability,
subrogation, and transportation law.
Mr. Marowitz has been a member of
the Florida Bar since 1999 and the
Southern District of the United
States Federal Court since 2001. He
is now an active member of the
Florida Bar, Broward County Bar, and
Broward County Association of
Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Over the course of his career, Mr.
Marowitz has tried over 40 cases as
First Chair Assistant Public
Defender. He specialized in the
defense of those who could not
afford a lawyer and accordingly
developed an expertise in the fields
of defense litigation. Mr. Marowitz
set new precedent in legality of law
enforcement threats in DUI criminal
defense when he tried the widely
publicized case State of Florida v.
Mills.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr.
Marowitz served as the Assistant
Public Defender in Brevard county
and served from 1999 until 2000.
Following his tenure here, he moved
on to serve as the Assistant Public
Defender in Broward County from 2000
until 2002.
Mr. Marowitz was born in Livingston,
New Jersey on March 16, 1974. In
1981, he moved with his family to
Coral Springs, Florida. He attended
Tulane University in New Orleans,
Louisiana on a full academic
scholarship and received a
Bachelor's Degree in English
Literature in 1996. He attended the
University of Akron College of Law
on full academic scholarship as well
and received his Juris Doctor degree
in May 1999.
